look forward to taking it out on the road. I am extremely pleased that "Michael Anderson" and "Mighty Music" are partnering up with me to deliver this music to ears and hearts of the music appreciating people of the world. This is a very important record for me and it represents a very powerful chapter in my life hence “Torn From The Pages".
Stephen DeAcutis aka “Stevie D” has been working professionally as a Guitar Player, mixer, producer, Multi-Instumentalist, engineer, writer, and
performer since the early 1980’s, having honed his skills and training under such studio heavyweights as Andy Wallace (Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana), Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith), and Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne) amassing credits that include such acts as Vanilla Fudge,Vinny Moore, Pat Travers, Carmine and Vinny Appice, Punky Meadows, and Cyndi Lauper to name a few.
The achievements of mixing and production specialist Stephen DeAcutis have spanned decades, taken on several roles, and manifested into a diverse number musical genres. But the common thread throughout these accomplishments has been the artist-friendly attention to detail and dedication of the man collaborators affectionately call “Stevie D.”
As the founder and operator of Sound Spa Productions, Stephen has applied his craft as a mixer, producer, engineer, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist to help guide and realize the visions of some of the industry’s most elite artists and musicians.
As the wearer of many hats "Stevie D" as well as being a world class mixer/producer is equally proficient as a guitar player and song writer and when he is not working on other artist’s music he is conjouring up his own creations. Most recently recording and performing with Carmine and Vinny Appice and contributing to Carmine’s “Guitar Zeus” along side “Bumblefoot” on guitar and finishing up his latest release “Torn From The Pages” Featuring “Corey Glover” On lead Vocals.
States DeAcutis “This record has been a long time in the making and I am very proud of the outcome and I feel this is some of my best work to date. Corey gave me the goods in his vocal performances and it is a blessing that he has given me his heart, soul and amazing vocal ability’s to represent my music. I am truly blessed.”
My song writing process States “DeAcutis" is pretty straight ahead, my songs usually start with a guitar riff followed by the groove, I will usually set up in the studio so I can immediately start to record as I write and thats how the songs came together on TFTP. By the time I finish writing the track I will have a fully recorded arrangement with a basic melody or maybe just a verse or chorus melody.
Once the music is recorded I will throw on a set of headphones and start
to improvise a melody over the track and at that point some lyric ideas could start to show themselves. One off the cuff vocal line could influence the entire story line of the song. On TFTP I originally had my friend and former Band mate “Doug Henthorn” demo the record. Doug and I were in a band by the name of “POD” that was signed to Sony and John Kalodner A&R. Not the POD that put records out, our record never saw the light of day although it was a great one.
At That point I thought to ask Corey to guest appear on one song on the record which he agreed to do. The song was “Your Time Has Run Out” I thought that would be a good one cause its high energy and I knew I could get that classic badass Corey Glover vocal performance from him. Well after he cut that track it was pretty clear I would not be happy unless he did the entire record which he agreed to do. That moment I realized I was going to have something great on my hands and sure enough that became the reality.
I could not be happier with the outcome of “Torn From The Pages” and
